Canine Assault - I.D. Needed

On Thursday, August 19, 2010, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Fort Funston dog-walker reported to U.S. Park police that her dog had been stabbed multiple times by with a knife by a man, while walking near the Sunset Trail.

The assailant is described as a slender white or Hispanic man in his thirties, approximately 5'9" tall with short dark hair. He is a regular dog walker at Fort Funston, with a white-faced brindle patterned non-neutered pit bull. The dog’s name may be “Denali” An individual matching the suspect description was seen leaving the parking lot in a forest green SUV with tinted windows and a dog crate in the back.

The U.S. Park Police requests help in identifying the suspect for further investigation.
