Has one ever been considered for our clubhouse?
I'm seeing 200-300W ones on Amazon for ~ $225. One problem is that we'll need to have a way of continuously discharging the water from the unit.

good idea, I think you could run the tube out thru the wall?

Yep.

Is there a ditch or drainage pipe close to the clubhouse? I never noticed. If the clubhouse is well insulated then the unit will run less and reduce the amount of drainage.

Since its clean water so to speak, I think the city/county code pretty much says to discharge it away from the building (sloped away preferably)... aside from that they see it as rainwater...

Im not sure if the clubhouse has a ceiling, or side wall vent/fan... But that on humidity and or temp activated switch will save a few bucks having it on only when its needed...

If you need a number of a real good HVAC guy who deals with this stuff all the time drop me an email.. (he is also a pilot!!!!Free work yay!!!!)

We can drill a hole through the wall for a drain, no problem.
Have to find out the monthly cost but first if it would even be effective.
Lets contact your HVAC guy!

Hey Rob, good to know! The units I found online do have switches that control the level of humidity the unit should keep. I hope we can insulate/ventilate the building so that the unit operates a minimal amount of time.

Steve, I know for sure gliders in the clubhouse get moldy. So nothing to lose in getting the hvac guy to evaluate the building.

Cool stuff....:)

If we really want to step it up we can do solar power, insulate with rigid foam, seal the cement floor (if thats an issue) Fan/dehumidifier.... We have lots of options to fix whatever the problem is...

I will be out there before sunday to do an evaluation if andrew cant make it, (he is leaving on vacation saturday for 3 weeks..)

Cheers, Rob
