Rain Guage broken?

Postby Steve Urbach » Mon Dec 20, 2010 2:03 pm

The last few storms, I have seen no Rainfall indicated.

Is the Gauge broken, intentionally disconnected?

Shouldn't the Graph be hidden then or is it a OSFA kind of weather display?

When was it disconnected? The problem that I saw with it was that it got repeatedly gummed up with dirt and bird droppings. Since the amount of rain isn't as central to flying, the tech volunteers have been spending their time on other issues.

It could just be that the black rain collector needs cleaning out.

The weather station software is wview, running on a box in the clubhouse.

I unserstand the dirt (droppings?).
I have a POS LaCrosse, that one small pine needle stops it, or I get 46" of rain when the local Ham does a little DX (A Ferrite core did not help).
I'd clean it for you, but I don't make it to the cliff very often.
