Starting this week and continuing for two to three weeks, there will be
a herd of about 200 goats grazing at Mussel Rock. The city of Daly City
has contracted with a company to have the goats clear areas of pampas
grass and gorse bushes.
The goats will be inside a white fence and the fence will be
electrified. After one area is cleared, the temporary fence and goats
will be moved to another area to clear more land.
When you are flying at the Dump, please stay well away from the goats
and the fence. Plan your flights so that there is no chance you will
sink out in the goat enclosure or hit the fence. This is a temporary
situation and we should be able to work around it for the next couple
of weeks.
The caretaker of the goats will be staying in a trailer at Mussel Rock.
