Dan If you can hear me, I want you to know: You have been a joy and delight to every one that has ever known you. I’ve known you since flying Soda Springs in 1974; your irreverent style has always been refreshing and funny. It’s almost impossible to be uptight when you were around. You had a way of diffusing the stresses of our other work life, outside the park and flying. I can still remember the time we went to the Los Gatos theatre and watched the three stooge’s marathon, and then the trips to Hull and Slide. Moonlight sled rides at Lexington. The alien documentary we saw about Roswell in Minden when Chuck and I got grounded from flying home that night, sleeping in the hanger getting pounded with heavy wind all night. Glider instruction in Minden, tug pilot, corporate jet pilot. The landing roost at Mission where you found <safety meeting> material under a rock for all of us to share, freaking amazing!! You could fly anything, you were constantly thinking, always passionate, never boring or selfish.
Dan, most important, you will be missed as the unofficial general of the “Fun Brigade”. Someone will need to replace you, perhaps if we all contribute a little more?
We will always keep you in our heart and minds. You will always be here with us, in the park, at the table, in the bush, at the cliff edge, in the air, with friends, telling stories, flying anything and everything, relaxing, being alive.
My prayers are with you Dan.
your humble friend – Tom Jensen
