Wind Talker down for repair

Postby Steve Rodrigues » Sat Feb 16, 2008 11:40 pm

I'm in the process of installing a new anemometer for the dial up weather info.
I'll have the Wind Talker back up ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

I went to the clubhouse today to test the new gear and it didn't work. :-(
I'll try and straighten it out tonight and go back ASAP.

Today I replaced the connector box and changed one of the leads on the anemometer. It works!!!

Tim West helped me set the wind direction but it was too windy and rainy to climb the tower and hang the gear. I should be able to get everything up and running next Saturday morning.

Debbie the wind talker is up and running!

This afternoon/evening I took down the old anemometer and wires, got the new anemometer mounted on the mast and aimed west, ran the cable down the mast inside the protective cover, fished it under the eaves into the clubhouse, found the wires too short to reach the custom junction box I made to adapt the new phone jack to the old dual stereo plugs, re-routed the cable from the windtalker through the rafters across the entire clubhouse so it would reach the junction box, plugged in the connections, taped and zip tied everything in place and got Debbie up and running!
Yeah, no big deal. ;-)
